Competition

Lifesaving Sport has two component, pool and ocean. The pool component is often known as still waters; and the ocean component is known as open waters.

Still Waters

Just like a swimming competition, pool lifesaving is also a race for the fittest. Every component test aspects of speed, strength, and endurance. The skills and techniques are used to improve rescue efficiency.

Pool lifesaving is primarily held in a 50-meter swimming pool, ideally with a minimum depth of 1.8 meters.

The various disciplines of pool lifesaving are Manikin Carry, Manikin Carry with Fins, Manikin Tow with Fins, Obstacle, Super lifesaver, Line Throw, Manikin Carry Relay, Medley Relay, and Obstacle Relay.

Open Waters

Swim. Surf. Sprint. Paddle

These are the four main elements when it comes to open water competitions. In Singapore, there are a total of 9 events to partake at the competition. Held at our very own Palawan Beach @ Sentosa.
